Job Overview
We are seeking an External Merchant Development Manager to expand our WAON POINT business. This important role involves overseeing the formulation of the company's external merchant development strategy, the selection of development candidates based on that strategy, maintaining relationships with external merchants after development, promoting WAON POINT usage at external merchants, and overseeing external merchants.
Candidates with experience in formulating and executing merchant development strategies at finance companies, IPS companies, or loyalty platform companies are preferred.
Key responsibilities
- Planning and execution of external affiliate acquisition strategies
- Industry-wise targeting and market analysis
- Development strategies planning for external merchants’ acquisition
- Team management
- Team organization, KPI design, progress management
- Standardization and quality control of sales materials and proposals
- Contract negotiations and relationship building with merchants
- Adjusting contract terms, legal and operational aspects
- Establishing a post-affiliation follow-up system
- Collaboration with related internal departments
- Collaboration with marketing, IT, and customer support
- Supporting affiliate promotions and system implementation
- Market trend and competitive analysis
- Researching affiliate strategies of other companies' loyalty programs
- Update proposals in line with trends
Requirements
- Experience and skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Merchant Development Strategy planning Finance, Payment or Loyalty Platform industries.
- Minimum of 3 years of Sales/Alliance experience in the retail, food service, or service industries.
- Proven experience in B2B sales, proposal-based sales, and contract negotiation.
- Experience in managing development/sales team.
- Experienced in leading projects involving multiple departments.
- Advanced professional business English communication skills in both written and spoken forms (mandatory).
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or a related field.
